Champion Development Services

Champion Development Notes star NEW this year!

This service grew out of last years’ entrants’ desire to get more feedback from our awesome Champion Readers. This service provides four-five pages of detailed feedback and gives the entrant the status of their script in the contest. If Champion Development Notes are ordered within 24 hours of a script’s submission, the script is also eligible for resubmission in the competition. The service can only be ordered through the Champion site, so if a writer forgot to select Champion Development Notes or entered through Withoutabox, they simply order the service via the Champion site.
Price: $250.

Contest Coverage

This is a short 1-2 page coverage-like analysis of an entrant’s feature screenplay. In addition to the feedback, writers get the advantage of knowing whether their script advanced as well as the option to resubmit a rewrite. There are no extra steps. Writers who want to use this service simply chose the “Feature Script with Contest Coverage” on our order form or enter the Feature category with Contest Coverage via Withoutabox.
Price: Additional $60.

More In-Depth Feedback

Champion founder Jim Mercurio offers a discount on his story analysis service to all entrants. Jim has been ranked as one of the country’s top screenplay consultants and has Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated clients. He has produced and/or directed five low-budget features including one he discovered from a contest (Hard Scrambled, starring Kurtwood Smith). Although using the service does not make scripts eligible for resubmission, writers will receive concise feedback on where their screenplays rank relative to the nine previous contests he has judged. Entrants can save 5% —up to $60—on either of these services. Please order via the Champion shopping cart at the time of submission.
